About the Founder

Joe Feliciano

I started Saugment as a way to share straightforward insights into executive protection and security. These are quick, practical reads for professionals who don’t have time for fluff. The goal is simple: provide useful perspectives on the realities of protection work, highlight common misconceptions, and encourage better practices across the industry.

My perspective comes from more than a decade of real-world experience. I served as a U.S. Army Military Police Staff Sergeant, where I led teams in law enforcement, investigations, and training both stateside and overseas. After transitioning to the private sector, I spent years in executive protection and private security, working as a senior team leader and consulting on security program development. I’ve also supported high-profile clients ranging from Fortune 500 executives to celebrities, and managed teams in high-risk environments where discretion and judgment were critical.

Along the way I completed an MBA in Operational Crisis Management, which reinforced my approach to leadership, strategy, and risk reduction. My passion has always been helping others improve their craft, whether through training, mentoring, or breaking down lessons learned in the field.

Saugment is the continuation of that mission: a place to share experience-backed insights that help security professionals stay effective, adaptable, and sharp.
